A Visitor Visa is a temporary visa that allows an individual to visit Australia for tourism, business, or to visit family and friends. There are four streams under this visa category:

  1. Tourist Stream: This visa stream allows an individual to visit Australia as a tourist or to see family and friends. An individual can stay up to 12 months.
  2. Business Visitor Stream: This visa stream is for individuals who want to visit Australia for business reasons. An individual having this visa can stay up to 3 months in Australia.
  3. Sponsored Family Stream: This visa stream is for individuals who want to visit their family members in Australia who are Australian citizens or permanent residents. An individual can stay up to 12 months.
  4. Approved Destination Status stream: This visa stream is for individuals from certain countries who are part of the Approved Destination Status scheme. An individual can stay up to the period or until the date is specified in the grant letter.
  5. Frequent traveler stream: This visa stream is for the citizens of the People’s Republic of China who frequently travel to Australia for business or personal reasons. This visa is granted for up to 10 years and an individual can stay up to 3 months each time of their visit.

To be eligible for Visitor Visa subclass 600, one must meet certain requirements:

  • Have a genuine reason to visit Australia.
  • Meet health and character requirements.
  • Have enough money to support during the stay in Australia.
  • Meet specific stream that an individual is applying for.
  • Have no outstanding debts to the Australian Government.
