A student visa (subclass 500) allows International Students to study in Australia at a registered educational institution. There are various an individual should meet in order to be eligible for Student Visa 500. Some of the criteria are listed below:

  1. Enrolled in a registered course: An individual must be enrolled in a course that is registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institution and Course of Overseas Students (CRICOS).
  2. English Language Proficiency: An individual must show the English Language Proficiency by providing evidence of the score on an approved English Language Test. Some of the approved tests are IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and Cambridge English.
  3. Health Insurance: There should be an adequate health insurance coverage while the individual is in Australia.
  4. Financial Requirements: An individual must demonstrate that they are financially capable to cover the travel, tuition, and living expenses in Australia. This can be done by providing evidence of financial capacity like bank statements.
  5. Meet Character Requirements: One must meet the character requirements by providing police certificates from all countries that they have lived in for 12 months.
